Jim Paterson
President/Owner
Jim has over 40 years of experience in the transportation industry, beginning in 1979 in the airline industry. For the past 30 years, his experience has been with the trucking industry, both in operation and in training.
Prior to purchasing CTS in 2021, Jim worked for the company as Instructor, Manager, and Director and has committed his life’s work to safety training for drivers operating Commercial Motor Vehicles.
During his leisure time, he enjoys time with family and friends outdoors. Camping, Fishing, and Travel are his favorite hobbies.
Ron Paterson
Vice President/Owner
Ronald, an airplane pilot since high school, has been a B767/757 Captain for United Parcel Service since 1988. Ronald’s skill set includes system and safety management, business management, and finance.
When not working, Ron enjoys playing golf, hunting, camping, and any number of outdoor activities involving motorcycles and ATVs.
Michelle Doty
Chief Compliance Officer
Michelle has been in the transportation industry for 12 years. She began her career in 2010 as the Regional DOT Compliance Administrator for Burris Logistics in Elkton, MD. She continued her path in the direction of compliance and began working with the Center for Transportation Safety in 2018.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling.
Stephen Fennell
Director of training and operations
After graduating high school, Stephen attended IUP starting out in Criminology, but soon realized he had a passion for the transportation industry. He decided to transition into the truck driving program. Upon his completion of the program, he was recruited to TMC Transportation where he was later asked to join the training team.
Stephen started with Center for Transportation Safety in 2008 as Lead Instructor for Halliburton training. He used this opportunity to help and build and start-up the novice program we offer to the public today.
In his free time, Stephen enjoys time with family and friends, hunting, cars, the outdoors, and riding motorcycles. He is a member of the VFW and currently holds the office of Sr. Vice President for Aux.
